Thank you for this terrific post and congratulations on your three awards. In Homer’s “Iliad”, Artemis could have been represented as a supporter of Troy because her brother Apollo was the patron god of the city. At the Greek’s journey to Troy, Artemis becalmed the sea and stopped the journey till an oracle came and mentioned they could win the goddess’ heart by sacrificing Iphigenia, Agamemnon’s daughter. Artemis would by no means marry, and would be chaste for all eternity. She roamed with her hunting dogs, nymphs, and her stags, hunting all all through the mountains, exactly where she resided....
